3.6.7. Season of planting affects tillering
Rice plants produce more tillers during wet season than during dry season. Rice plants need more nitrogen fertilizer during dry season to increase tiller number. Closer spacing in dry season helps to produce the same number of tillers per square meter as in wet season.
