3.6.6. Spacing affects tillering
The tiller number per plant increases as the distance between plants increases. 132 tillers can be produced per square meter in case of 50×50 cm spacing. In case of 10×10 cm spacing, 300 tillers can be produced per square meter. If plants are spaced far apart, the number of tillers per square meter may be reduced.
