   3.5.5. Root distribution and fertilizing

  Root distribution depends on placement of fertilizer. Mixing the fertilizer thoroughly into the plowed soil results in deeper roots and better root distribution. Deep placement of fertilizer near the plant is more efficient than broadcasting it.
