3.5.3. Root distribution and topsoil
Root distribution depends on depth of the topsoil. The topsoil is the distance between the soil surface and the hardpan. Deeper topsoil means deeper root penetratiuon. Plant roots can penetrate evenly and spread widely in deep topsoil.
