5.5.2. Short leaf sheaths
The rice plant with long leaf sheaths is commonly weak. Because a long leaf sheath indicates very rapid initial elongation, resulting in the weak seedling. Cloudy days, shadows from something, dense seeding, and too deep water can result in long leaf sheaths. When they are transplanted, they recover slowly.
