8.3. Critical stages on water management
Limited water at any growth stage can reduce grain yield. However, the peak water demand of rice is from panicle formation stage to the grain filling stage. The rice plants are most sensitive to water deficit between booting and flowering. Therefore, sufficient water should be maintained at the stages.
