8.1. Functions of water

Water is a major constituent of the plant. Water carries the nutrients to the different parts of the rice plant. Water cools the leaves when it evaporates and helps to make the leaves erect and fully expanded. Water is raw material for food manufacturing. Limited water decreases the amount of food manufacturing.
