오늘은 세계문화권에 대하여 특강을 해 주었다. 중국 베이징/북한/강원도/영남지방의 북방문화권(유교, 정치적, 사회질서 중시, 보수적), 중국 상하이/호남지방/일본의 남방문화권(불교, 도교, 자아실현 중시,예술적, 진보적)은 각각 특색있는 문화권을 형성하고 있다. 세계 모든 지역이 대체로 이 두 문화권으로 나누어지고, 각각 고유한 문화를 보인다. 우리나라 경기, 충청지역은 두 문화가 모두 공존하는 지역이다.

Cultural tendency of the world

The world can be divided into two categories of culture.

There are two cultural tendencies in the world.

One is Northern culture, and the other is Southern culture.

Northern culture is characterized by

Basic idea is Confucianism. It thinks that social order is more important than individual happiness or freedom. The people generally dreamed or dream hero, great king, great statesman/politician, and great war strategist. They are conservative and oppose great or sudden social changes. They prefer traditional styles and values. Martial art with foot techniques is prevalent. Taekwondo is the representative martial art. Sexual relationship is relatively less open.

Southern culture is characterized by

Basic idea is Buddhism or Taoism. It thinks that individual deliverance, or individual freedom, or individual happiness is more important than the social order. Taoism is related anarchism. The people generally dreamed or dream great artists, literary man, musician, or big merchant. They are progressive and in favor of new ideas, modern methods and changes. Martial art with hand techniques is prevalent. Kungfu is the representative martial art. Sexual relationship is relatively more open.

What part of the world is Northern or Southern cultural area?

Asia:

- Northern cultural area: Northeastern part of China ( Baijing ),

North Korea, and Eastern part of South Korea.

- Southern cultural area: Southern part of China (Shanghai), Southwestern

part of South Korea and Japan.

- Vietnam: Northern( hanoi ) - Southern( Hochimin )

- Myanmar: Northern except Yangon

Europe: Germanic culture/Anglo Saxon - Latinic culture

- Northern culture: German, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Russia...

- Southern culture: Italia, Spain, Portugal, France, Rumania

America: Anglo Saxon America - Latin America in terms of culture.

- Northern culture: USA, Canada

- Southern culture: Mexico, South America

- In terms of geography, North America and South America.

Africa: over Sahara: Southern, below Sahara: past England/France colony

Australia: Northern culture
