10.3.3. Biological control

All insects are affected by natural controls. Their reproduction and population buildup can be limited by natural enemies such as predators and parasites. The biological control agents alone will not always prevent damaging buildups of insects. Farmers should use insecticides only when there are not enough natural enemies and there are enough pests to damage rice crop.
