10.2.1. Rice diseases

The common diseases of rice are classified into 4 groups according to the pathogens like fungus, bacterium, virus, and nematode. Rice blast and Sheath blight are caused by the fungi. Bacterial blight is one of the most destructive bacterial diseases. Tungro virus, Ragged stunt virus, and Grassy stunt virus have caused serious damage in tropical regions .
