5.3.5. Irrigating the seedbed

Begin shallow but continuous irrigation once the seeds have sprouted 2-3 cm high. Increase the water depth gradually to 5 cm as the seedlings grow taller. Shallow flooding of about 5 cm is satisfactory to control weeds and facilitate pulling of seedlings.
